About

Wesleyan University Orchestra is a student-community ensemble that promotes and cultivates collective music making in a friendly and supportive environment. Our concert themes are intriguing and engaging, programming is diverse and exciting, and our concerts bring tons of positive emotions and creative inspiration to our audiences and performers alike.

Our typical season consists of three performances: a Masterworks concert in late November/early December, a Children’s Concert in early March, and a Wesleyan Concerto Competition concert in early May. We regularly collaborate with our Private Lessons Instructors, faculty, and community artists as guest soloists and featured composers.

We are always happy to welcome more members, especially the upper strings, low brass, and horns! An up-to-date list of vacancies will be posted on “Join Us” page in mid-September. Please, take a look at posters, concert programs, and recordings from past seasons to catch a glimpse of what we do. This web page is a work in progress, so check back for updates. Feel free to reach out to me with all and any questions and inquiries. We would love to hear from you!
